02 Information We Collect

This notice applies when you visit our website, subscribe to our communications, make an enquiry, submit an application, book or purchase a service, attend an event, participate in a corporate engagement or receive coaching.

Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect your name and contact details; enquiry, application, booking, coaching, event and communication records; and financial or business information you choose to provide, such as income, expenditure, assets, liabilities, pensions, investments and financial objectives.

We may also collect transaction and billing records, marketing preferences, feedback, testimonials and agreed photography or recordings. Payment-card details are normally processed directly by our payment provider and are not retained by Finance Matters UK.

Our website and the service providers supporting it may automatically collect limited technical information, including your IP address, browser, device and website activity.

03 How We Collect and Use Information

We normally collect information directly from you through our website, forms, emails, bookings, payments, consultations, coaching sessions and events.

We may also receive relevant information from an organisation arranging an engagement, a person you have authorised, a referral source or a service provider involved in your booking or payment.

We use this information to respond to enquiries, assess applications, arrange and deliver services, prepare coaching materials, manage appointments and payments, communicate with you, maintain appropriate business records, resolve complaints and comply with legal obligations.

Where information is required to enter into or fulfil a contract, we may be unable to provide the relevant service if it is not supplied.

04 Our Lawful Bases

We process personal information where it is necessary to take steps at your request, enter into an agreement or deliver a service.

We may also process information to comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements; where reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries, administer our services, maintain business records or protect our legal rights; or where you have provided consent.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

05 Marketing

We may send newsletters, educational content, event information and service updates where you have consented or where this is otherwise permitted by law.

You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting us. We may retain a minimal record of your preference so that we do not send further marketing communications after you unsubscribe.

06 Sharing and International Processing

We may share information with service providers supporting our website, forms, bookings, video calls, payments, electronic signatures, email communications, cloud storage, events, accounting and professional support.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not sell personal information.

Some service providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where an international transfer is subject to UK data-protection law, it may be covered by UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards used by the relevant provider. You may contact us for further information about international processing relating to your information.

07 How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably required to provide our services, manage our relationship with you and meet applicable legal, tax, accounting or contractual requirements.

Contracts, invoices, payment records and relevant formal correspondence may generally be retained for up to six years after our relationship ends where required for legal, tax or accounting purposes.

Other information is retained according to its nature, why it was collected and whether it remains necessary for a legal or business purpose. Marketing information may be retained until you unsubscribe or it is no longer required, subject to retaining a minimal record of your preference.

08 Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion or restriction, object to certain uses, request the transfer of certain information and withdraw consent.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal limitations.

To exercise a right, contact info@financemattersuk.com. We may need to confirm your identity and will normally respond within one month.
